Long or Short Action
A Winchester 70 XTR FWT, 257 Roberts...Long or Short action[?] Being a nice mid range caliber I'm not sure, Need info to buy a factory stock..Soooooooooooo..if you have one[:D]

I have one and I was going to say it was long action but. . .checked a 30-06 round against it and that is too long for the magazine. So, short action I guess. In any case, the stock holes (front of magazine to the one at rear of trigger guard) are 7.5 inches apart which should help. This Model 70 XTR FWT 257 Roberts is a early 1980s version made shortly after USRAC took over manufacturing from Winchester. 0 -

at 2.75" the .257 Bob, based on the 7 x 57 is a short action cartridge, just barely.0 -
