9mm 5903/5906 p.o.a./accuracy issue

hello;

need info on sight replacement and accuracy issue on a s&w 5903 & 5906.

shot both pistols from a rest for the first time several days ago. distance was 12 yards, range was semi-under water and we were in tennis shoes.

reloads were 6.2 grains of accurate #5, with a remington 115 grain h/p and a remington 124 grain h/p. using a pistol rest, both pistols shot 6-7 inches below point of aim, group size was @6 inches.

the real kicker was using the same loads in a ruger p95 and p89, groups were @1 inch, both pistols shot to point of aim.

sights on the smiths are adjustable for left/right and not up/down. The sight height on both pistols are the same, front sight .170", rear sight .235".

any suggestion on sight replacement. any suggestions on accuracy issue. thanks for any input.

    Do all rounds of the group hit consistantly in the same place? Or do you get one round low and the rest closer to poa?

    the data i'm using list 6.4 grains of hp38/ww231 as max.

    all rounds of the group do hit consistantly in the same place.

    six shots were fired to get a group.

    Several comments/questions. Have you shot factory ammo? How does it group and where is its point of aim...high or low? Have you run the ammo over a chrono? What MV are you getting? As to your question; there are replacement front blades that can be used but I would go there only as a last resort. Removing material from the front blade or raising the rear sight should move your poa closer to bullet impact. 6 or 8 in groups seem a little large...how much have the guns been shot?
