Is my price right?
Been for sale for week and a half . . . $400 Glock 19 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=136096157 no bids to date . . . is price too high? Or does it take awhile to sell . . .?

I don't see anything wrong with your add. The description & pictures provide more than adequate detail, and I think the firearm is actually priced below the actual value. I think you would actually be better off haveing a "no reserve" auction, with the opening bid being at $399.00 (where you currently have it) and no "buy it now" price. I think the item could actually bring more that the $425.00 buy it now price.
Anyway....my 2 cents.

Personally, I can't imagine why no one has jumped at the 'Buy it now' option. $425 is a great price for a G19.
One critique: Cut down on the personal discussion in the description. Let the gun speak for itself. Sometimes, when I see that much explaination as to 'why I'm selling' I tend to think its a line of bull. I can see that you're sincere, however.
If it doesn't go this time, relist it. It will sell.

I'm going to Tombstone this weekend where there is a gunshow, and thought of pinning a sign to my back with it for sale . . . I also have a friend who has a shop over there where I'm sure I could out up a sign . . .

If you check the GB Completed Auctions, you will see LOTS of Glock 19's listed & sold. And, your starting price appears to be near the top of the market for those in the same condition.
What would scare me off is the fact that you have no feedback, but you are selling it AS IS. A prudent buyer would assume that this means the gun has a problem, & the seller is just trying to dump it on someone unsuspecting. I know, you have only the best of intentions, but
appearances are everything.
Are you aware that UPS or Fedex Next Day Air will easily cost $50-60, & you will have to absorb all costs > the $25 you show in your listing?
And, did you know that you cannot use Paypal for firearms or firearms related transactions? If they find out, they will freeze your money & cancel your account.

Ad is fine (though maybe a bit too chatty. . .nobody cares which months you carried the gun).
Pictures are fine (though next time, try a more neutral/ less distracting background).
Asking price is perfectly reasonable, if not spectacular.
Give it a few more days. Most bids occur in the last hour of timed auctions. . .that's how they work.
If it doesn't sell, you should consider a "no reserve" auction.
I guarantee you that such an auction would NOT bring less than $300 (since I myself would bid that much).
EDIT: Shilo, you can have it for $351, since $350 is probably my max bid on this. I'm not all that fond of Glocks, but if I could get a G19 on the cheap, I might be tempted.
In all seriousness, I wouldn't AT ALL be surprised if the gun went for MORE than $425 in a true "no reserve" auction. Paradoxically, no reserve auctions often fetch higher prices just because they attract more bidders.
As an aside, guns like this might draw more interest from local buyers, particularly if face-to-face transactions are allowed in your state. If the buyer can avoid a $25 shipping fee and avoid another $25 (or more) FFL transfer fee, that potentially allows him to bid another $50 compared to someone out of state.0 -
If you don't sell and re-list I would suggest starting it at $1.00 with a RESERVE rather than starting the bidding at $399.00 with a buy it now....not that I have sold ALOT of guns here I've sold a few and found in order to develop competitive bidding it helped me to start low and get just a few people "emotionally" invested in bidding on your particular item.
Its a Gen 1 Glock with a low serial number so that it may only appeal to a certain group of bidders, alot of people in the market for G19 will be looking for a Gen 3 with the finger grooves and light rail. So maybe you focus on the "vintage" or "original" Glock angle..
I'd raise your shipping price as previously mentioned...I'm not an FFL either so I have had to build in the cost of paying an FFL to ship my stuff.

I read into that statement that the gun has problems.Most sellers offer a short return period,return postage paid by the buyer.I would NOT bid on a gun I could not return after a 3 day period.
a bit too chatty>i'd just say the gun runs perfect IF it does,and say minor carry cosmetics,approx round count.

All good advice..biggest problem is by the time a person buys this gun it will cost them $475.00 bucks.. You can buy a new one for $499 .. Other problems are your feedback rating and things are tough in the market right now.. Folks want stuff handed to them .. 0 -
OK, More info . . . I have a friend who has a FFL and has offered to mail it USPS for cost +$10 (to cove him haing to go to the PO. . . easier to just say $25 flat . . .
