Ruger Blackhawk Combo
I bought a Ruger Blackhawk 357/9mm Combo,and would like to no if I would use a moonclip for the 9mm cyl.

To use the moon clip you would have to remove the cyl, put the clip holding the cartridges in it and reinstall in the frame. Maybe it could be done this way but it would be a very clumsy way to load. 0 -

The cylinder headspace the 9MM on the case mouth, no need for moon clip. I wanted one of the .45 Acp, 45 Long Colt combos and have not done my duity.

i use a set of ss bisley vaqueros for cowboy action in 45colt, i bought a 45acp factory cylinder in stainless from an older gentleman that bought it from ruger years ago, he gave it to me for 40 dollars, i believe you can still get them straight form ruger for around 80-100 dollars if you already have a 45colt. just takes a couple minutes with a file to make it fit. they may want you to send them the gun nowdays though.0 -
Moon clips dont work in single actions unless you dont mind taking it apart for each reload and the cylinder is cut for them. Makes no sense at all.
Ejection is done by the ejector rod one at a time so moon clips would only get in the way.
I have a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 caliber with both cylinders, very nice gun and versatile. Third gun from top.
