S & W 1983 50th ann. Commerative BATF Model 66 357
I am looking to price a gun in my collection and am having some trouble. I did find that there were only a bit over 1000 of them made. The gun is a Smith and Wesson Model 66 357. It is the 1933-1983 50th ann. Commerative BATF revolver. It is in mint condition complete with both storage and display cases.

I'm not familiar with that model. Seems a little early for a 50th anniversary model, since BATF was established in 1972. But, maybe they are including previous agencies going back to prohibition.
I'm sure that the gun was made by S&W. But, the big question is, was it tricked out by S&W & sold by S&W distributors, or is it really a "special edition" bought by some company & sold to a special group or readers of some magazine?
It would help us if you could post high quality photos of the gun, especially the packaging & box end label.

These things can be hard to price because both supply AND demand are usually pretty low.
In general, you should figure these sort of limited edition runs of otherwise normal guns go for only *slightly* more than similar models without the added cosmetics.
I'll guesstimate this one at maybe $625 give or take a bit in 99%+ condition with the accessories you describe.
It could be worth more if its in a barrel length other than the usual 4". A 6" bbl is usually worth a bit more, and a 2.5 or 3" bbl could be worth quite a bit more as those are rarer and more desireable.0 -
It was only made with the four inch barrel according to the book. There is not much more info for it. There were 1012 made. Like has been said it most likely will bring a little more than one NIB. 0 -
