Hello

I have a smoothbore rifle that has always been in family. Had ancesters from New England in Civil and Revolutionary Wars. The rifle is 58 1/2 inches long and is percussion. On top of barrel it is stamped London with two what appear to be crowns with TK? in between them. On the hammer plate it is engraved (what I can read) W. Godch...? Warrented.

I have photos but don't know how to attach here.

I have seen a few roughly similar in museums that state they were converted from flintlocks. Can anyone out there help with identification & history?

Pics are absolutely necessary. Check the lock closely and see if it says "Golcher", which was a common commercial lockmaker.

You have to allow us access to your photos. All we can see now are thumbnail images.

Look in Hunting- Muzzleloaders in their site and you should be able to enlarge photos by doubleclicking. It worked for me.

rufe-snow I am not sure if you are being funny or rude, but I had serious trouble putting photos on site. I followed one way to do it which I thought worked. All have wanted was some help for someone like me who knows very little about firearms.

It still says you have to register on that site to see full size pictures.
