H&R Top Break 32 S&W

I'm trying to find out the year of mfg and if it will fire modern 32 S&W?
Serial # is on the butt strap and under the left grip. 3 inch barrel, blue, plastic grips with target medallion @ top, top of frame Has the mfgs Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. top line, second line, Worcester, Mass. USA. 5 shot cylinder. Left side of barrel, 32 Cal S & W CTGE. No other markings, I believe it was mfg in 1906 but would ask for more info on these just to make sure. I would rate it @ 95%. Serial # 36010x

    Is it hinged frame or solid? Does it have an exposed hammer or is it hammerless? Could be one of several models. Depending upon model, with a six digit serial number, year of manufacture would most likely be in the 1930s. With the cartridge designation stamped in the left side of the barrel it was produced in 1905 or later, when H&R began producing smokeless/Nitro powder capable revolvers. Can't tell what model from the info, can't tell the era but can tell that - IF IN SAFE FIRING CONDITION - it can handle modern factory .32 S&W loadings.

    It's a 2nd Model 4th Variation "PREMIER", medium frame (as are all the Premiers, which were also offered in 7 shot .22 rimfire). This variation was produced between circa 1915 and 1924. The highest s/n that I have from this variation is in the 450 thousand range, so (we're still working on serialization and DOM) I'd guess yours was made in the very early 1920-21 range. In the manufacturer's stamping on the barrel rib - the second line address stamp should be shorter and centered under the company name, for this variation???? In 95%, excellent condition, it should sell at retail in the range $185 +/- $25. The 3" barrel, nickel finish and BLACK HARD RUBBER grips are standard for this model. It was also made with 4", 5" and 6" barrels and in blue - any of which will add considerably to the collectibility and value. Factory options also included a patented factory "spurless" hammer (POLICE model) and Mother-of-Pearl grip panels - these atributes will also add value to the piece.

    You are correct on the address. Also the cylinder will spin free until the hammer is pulled back? Looks like a normal thing for this H&R. $175 paid for it, the only blue that is off is around the muzzle and not much of it.
    Thank you very much for all the help on this. Now just to find some ammo.
