Marcus Luttrel's personnal weapon (in "Lone Survivor") was a Mark 5. What is it? Thanks.

  The only Mark 5 that comes to mind is the Weatherby. Being it's one of those fantasy shows, maybe it's a sawed-off 460 Weatherby that he's packing? It would be a guaranteed one shot stopper, thats for sure.

  My father had a knife rom WW 2 that is marked USN MK 1. Could the MK 5 be a knife?

  The Mk 5, as I understand it, is a highly modified, accurized version of the M16 rifle. Markus was, along with being the team corpsman, a precision shooter.
  
  I may be wrong, but I understand the Navy was utilizing Mk 11's and 12's at that time so Mk 5 may be a false nomenclature given so as not to divulge what he really had. Opsec ya know. You keep your mouth shut while the photographers take pictures of you flying or using what they just denied while some star(s) tells the public all about it.
