Dont know about the value but here is some info . The kasc gboronc refers to goldsboro north carolina . During ww2 an army air corps training base was located there After the creation of the air force the base was reactivated as Seymour Johnson Airforce Base It is currently home of The 4Th tactical Fighter Wing Perhaps the kasc was a pilot who was issued the gun or one who privately purchased it . It is not an importers mark that I know of,[Having lived there all my life] and being familar with the dealers in the area over the years

An interesting theory ---- but not likely.
First, the US military never purchase Colt M1911's bearing commercial serial numbers (i.e., starting with "C"). And, most pistols purchased by the military had the Ordnance seal & inspectors initials stamped, in addition to a US PROPERTY marking.
The Gun Control Act of 1968 requires the stamping of all firearms imported into the US with the name, city, & state of the importer; it would be an amazing coincidence for someone to have used the same format to mark a privately purchased gun.
In any case, it is not uncommon for an importer to use a made-up "alphabet" name & a PO box or drop-ship address. Apparently ATF has no problem with this practice.

wilson talks about a "few" civilian models that actually are stamped with US PROPERTY.
my guess is they were extra frames from a military contract, but that's just a guess.
wilson mentions it twice in his 3rd edition, so i tend to believe him.
