Remington 591 - 5mm Mag

Hello, I am new to this forum but thought I would try to see if I can find some answers. I have a Rem.5mm Mag. I inherited it from my Father last year and it was his favorite gun...(in the 70's when you could still buy ammo). Now that the ammo is being produced again, I am restoring the gun in memory of my father (he would love to see it shooting again) but I need some parts and cant find them anywhere. I am looking for a trigger and safety latch. I have tried a few parts sites but there seems to be nothing out there. Is there some place I should be looking or calling to see it the parts are in fact available. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    According to my reference, ( "Rifles of the World" by J. Walter ). The Model 591 was an offshoot of the 580 series of bolt action rimfire rifles, that Remington made in the 60's and 70's. Perhaps the trigger and safety latch from these rifles would function in yours?

    Yes I believe the safety and trigger assembly from a 580, 581 or 582 will work in the 591. Good luck finding one. Also I hear it is impossible to ship gun stuff from the US into Canada...make sure you check it out before getting it shipped into Canada otherwise you will lose it to customs.

    I have the parts you need but I don't/can't ship to Canada. I don't know how you would get them unles you were in the States.
