Stephens 38b
Can somebody give me an approxiamte date of manufacture for a Stephens 38 b boltaction .410. No serial number on the gun. It just says
"J. Stevens Arms Company"
"Chicopee Falls, MASS, USA"
"410 Bore Proof Tested"
Model 38 B
2 1/2 & 3 in. Shells

No real way of telling other from the lack of serial number and address.
Being it doesn't have a serial number, means it was made before the feds changed the gun laws in 1968. Savage who actually manufactured the shotgun, moved out of Chicopee Falls in 1959. Thats about is close as your going to get unless you can turn up some expert who can identify the production dates of the Model 38 B.0 -

Took it apart, and still no serial number, just a small stamp near the reciever on the very bottom of the barrel that says R.T-W.G. Anybody know what that means? It looks to be a factory stamp. 0 -
This was my first shotgun. Got for 13th birthday (1958)$15.at a pawnshop. I don't remember where I found info but mine was made in 1935. Sold it a few years ago for $85. Still have a clip for it if you need one. 0
