Shotgun mount for Jeep Wrangler

I recently purchased a Remington 870 Express. I drive an old Jeep Wrangler. I cannot find a gun rack specifically made for my model that keeps the gun off the floorboard or out of the seat. BigSky gun racks has an over-head gun mount that might work if modified. I was wondering if any has any better solution?

  Velcro strap it to the roll bar right behind the seat.

  If you can fabricate a mount for a BigSky it is the way to go.

  Howdy Tatum,
  Personally, I'd go for a scabbard ala older military jeep style just to suit my tastes, (and being partial to leather and canvas, too, though modern rip-stop/plastic/molded what-have-you are obviously more prevalently made).
  
  Up to you where you want mounted. You say an "old" jeep so drilling a couple holes here and there may be acceptable? And/or velcro as mentioned may be a way of attaching.
  
  Seen one guy had a regular ol' horse scabbard mounted upright in a pick-up truck behind the drivers seat and it was the cats meow. Shotgun, (he used a rifle in it, too), slid right out of there lickity-split. Sometimes the modifying is half the fun, putting ones personal touch in this "instant ready made" world.
  
  Anyways, google "shotgun scabbard" and whamo... lots to choose from Something will come up to best suit your need.

  I used to have a police style shotgun holder (you know the type mounted to the dash and floor board). You might look in to that with key and button release.

  I'd go with the Big Sky rack....it should attach fairly simply to the horizontal tube of your rollbar, that's how it attaches to the round tube on the cage in my patrol car.....this would allow you to leave the shotgun with it being secure. I would just make sure if you order one that you order it with the key, INSTEAD of the handcuff key release.....plus you can install a button somewhere that would release it electronically. Big Sky Racks are good quality products
  
  
  they utilize a "u" bolt type system, so you wouldn't even need to drill your roll bar
