Gun Smithing Videos/AGI ?
I asked this a bit back. Let's try again. Has anyone WHO USED these videos found them to be helpful or worth the money? They want 3200 for the whole set. I like their Armorer's courses and want some good advice, not some jack a$$ piping off remarks that is of no help.

I've sat and viewed them. Decided not to buy. Much better than nothing..but the course will create more questions than will be answered.
Yes, worthwhile IF you can get a pre-owned set for sale (auction?) somewhere. E-bay? The course will have lost it's "worthwhile" status if you have to spend more than $500 to purchase it.
Your call, but $3,200 is better if put towards equipment that you eventually will have to purchase.

I've seen a few of the videos (ones on 10/22, AR-15, I think Glock, part of the Mossberg 500 video). Certainly not all gazillion of them.
They're good INTRODUCTIONS to the guns in question. They go over a bit of history, how to detail-strip the guns, common issues, variations and mods.
Nice video to have for the NON-gunsmith, who wants to know how to care of their gun in a lot more depth than the average schmoe.
Will these turn you into a gunsmith>
I don't think so, and I don't believe they can. They're a lot better than nothing, and they probably would make decent first guides for actual gunsmiths.
But ultimately, like any mechanical labor type skill, I think the only way to really gunsmithing is with hands-on experience with people who are good (ie an apprenticeship).
You have to spend your hours taking apart the guns, swapping and modding parts, and doing custom work to become a gunsmith. The videos might help a little, but there is no substitute for actual hours of hands working on guns.0 -
