Para LDA Extractor issue

Does anyone know if a Para C6.45 3" 6+1 extractor is proprietary or will a Colt Commander for example or other extractor work as replacement. This an older pistol ser# 101xxx. Does Para even sell parts other than mags?

  Contact www.paraord.com and ask them.
  On guns made after 01-01-2001 they have a lifetime service policy.
  I just checked my 7-45 LDA and it has a normal 1911 extractor in it.

  All the recent Paras I know of except the economy model GI Expert use the proprietary Power Extractor which is not interchangeable with a real 1911's.
  
  I do not know when the changeover was made. If you have the gun at hand you could take it out and look. A real 1911 extractor is one piece, the Power Extractor has multiple parts in a bigger hole.
  
  If it is an auction deal or otherwise not available to inspect, try calling PO.

  I plan on calling PO, just got the gun (used) and low and behold, I was fortunate enough to get have it come with a broken extractor, free of charge. I just wanted to have a grasp of what I was talking about when I call them. If a standard 1911 part would work as opposed to a high end unique part, then I would try one first.

  Gotta hand it to Para Ordnance, one 3 minute phone call and a free extractor on the way.

  That's good, but predictable.
  You know they want that Internet Good Customer Service Report and an extractor is probably a cheap part to them anyhow.
