U.S. 1903 By Golden State Arms

I have a Marked "U.S. Remington Model 1903" Serial 3115180. Also it has "Produced by the Santa Fe Division of Golden State arms Corporation 1942 Sharpshooter" Does anyone know any history and a value? The Gun has had a bad bluing job with a few dings in the stock. Any info would be appreciated.

  Golden State Arms was located in Pasadena CA. They were a large importer and distributor of surplus military firearms. Many of the guns they sold were assembled from surplus parts, and had been extensively reworked.
  
  Your Remington was the last of the Model 1903's made in 1941, it would have had great value to a collector of military rifles if it hadn't been reworked by Golden State, and been reblued.

  I don't know about "great value", Rufe. Remington made a large quantity of 1903 rifles from 1941 until May, 1943, when they transitioned over to the 1903A3. Within the last few years CMP sold rebuilt Remington 03's for $350-500.
  
  Osiris, because of the poor quality of Golden States rifles I would not fire it out of safety concerns, so, to someone familiar with it, the value is zero. But, there will always be someone who never heard of it & may be willing to pay $200-300.
