They turn up on the auction sites from time to time. In fact, there is a loading gate listed on the auction side of this site right now. One sold on another site about a month ago for around $70. There are also reproductions available from some sources but I've never been satisfied with the quality of any of them.
Be aware that there were two types of gate and screw used. Prior to about SN 90,000 the loading gate was attached from the outside using an oval headed screw that threaded into the screw hole in the gate. After that SN, most loading gates were attached by a flat headed screw that passed through the hole in the gate and threaded into the frame from the inside. Your 1883-made gun could be either way. Winchester never threw away good usable parts and did not do things anywhere near as consistently as some would have us believe.
There was also some small variations in the shape of the gate but unless you are trying to put together a real collectors item, it should be of little consequence.0 -
