    A very large number did indeed previously belong to German Officers. Those particular ones were brought back by decendants of Cherokee Princesses. The one I own came from the Walther factory and was never carried or owned by anyone German, except Walther.

    Since handguns are generally issued primarily to officers, it would seem natural to me that most bringbacks would have come from officers.

    Hey Fatstrat, if they did indeed come from officers, how do you explain the huge number of bring backs that were pistols never used by the military at all. We have a bringback that was made in Czech. and never used by the military along with one from the Walther factory, also never carried by anyone. I have seen a wide variety of non-military pistols that were brought back.

    Dad did not lie, but may have won it in a poker game with the story the looser took it from a German officer. You have to admit the air plane mechanic that surrendered to my father was not nearly as macho a capture (if you can call a conscript surrendering because he thinks his countries military is insane a capture) as if he had been an SS officer.
