Need info on pistol I found
located a old 38 cal. pistol, 4" blue steel revolver, 6 shot with the following markings. ARRIETA Y BASCARAN-EIRAR (SPAIN) on top of the barrel, 38 CAL on the barrle and a shield of some sort engraved on the left side plate below the hammer. Would like to knoe the origin, value , year of man. or at least a site to do some research on this pistol.

That would be ARRIETA Y BASCARAN-EIBAR (SPAIN)and Eibar, Spain is the town and country of origin, Arrieta y(and) Bascaran is the maker. There were tons of inexpensive hand guns made in this reigon of Spain prior to 1968. Most have very modest demand and value. 0 -
Well, we know where, Eibar (not Eirar) was the cheap gun manufacturing center in Spain for a long time. There was a fairly prominent Martin Bascaran in business in Eibar before, during, and after WW I; but I find nothing to show him in cahoots with Arrieta who are better known for decent shotguns. 0 -

Gun importaion changed in 1968, and all the very cheap stuff stopped being imported. There is probably nowhere to really research it, as it attracts no collector interest and thus generates no experts writing books. As stated, values are very modest, usually $50-$150, and usually toward the lower end. 0 -
