Colt .45 ACP Series 80

I'm looking for more information on this piece. It's a Colt MK IV -- SERIES 80 --. On the other side of the piece it states GOVERNMENT MODEL, with a serial number of "FG09XXX". Not exactly sure of the barrel length: 4" or less. Has a 7 rnd clip. I've owned this gun for about 20 years and I am looking to sell. Also, I am not versed on selling a weapon on the internet and would appreciated a starting point. I would post a couple of pics on here if it wasn't such a PITA. Thanks - SAM

    Government models have 5" barrels. They are measured from the muzzle to the back of the chamber.

    The gun would have to be shipped to an FFL dealer. The buyer would send a current and signed copy of his dealers License to you before you ship the gun. Then you would ship to the address on the license.

    Make sure ahead of time that the dealer will accept shipment of the gun from you assuming you are not a licensed dealer.

    i had a officers model beginging with fg, i believe it was made in the mid 80s

    Yep, FG09XXX was made in 1983.
