spanish double barreled shotgun Quality/Value

Does anyone know about the quality and value of Spanish shotguns; specifically the brand manufactured by ZABALA HERMANOS. These double Barreled shotguns were imported by American Arms of Missouri and were called the Brittany model. It was 12 gauge 3 inch chambered gun . Yes, I know American arms is out of business! But I need some information as to the quality of this particular SxS shotgun .thanks

    While american arms is gone, i think tristar picked them up under their lable. American arms had brittany and gentry as their double barrel side by sides and while they were not a winchester model 21 they always seemed to be quite serviceable firearms{my opinion}. i have several american arms shotguns which have a lot of rounds thru them and they just keep on goin, most serious problem on them being that i had one break a firing pin which was no trouble at all to replace. shoot it and don't look back.

    Their quality is generally good, just not a whole lot of value there.
    For instance, when my AA 28ga Gentry started doubling (Ouch: that means a total of 1.75oz per squeeze, all thru a gun weighing-in at only 6.5 lbs loaded), it went in for repairs. The gunsmith said that "We don't get a lot of them in here 'cuz they ARE built well, but almost every specimen is INTERNALLY configured differently".
    That's the key-seems they had litle or no configuration control (this was late '80s to early '90s).
    Per 20gabob above, enjoy it for what she is. The above lil' 28 is attractive, handles great in the field & will always be a favorite - but a Perazzi she will never be.

    No question, but I didnt know perazzi made a side by side?

    I don't think you can lump Spanish SxS's into a general category and comment on quality issues. I don't even think you can necessarily make a generalized statment about a particular Spanish maker or group that made shotguns for export. The reason being is that a lot of utility type shotguns were made to a specific price point. The exceptions might be AyA, Arrieta and a few others. Ugartachea makes an exceptional sidelock for about $3K but also has made utility grade boxlocks for export at a price under $600.00. Some of which had firing pin issues in years past. Having said all that, I think most Spanish SxS's will give good service. Some are quite a bit internally different because there is a lot of hand fitting involved. Zabala produced some very nice boxlocks.
