"Thompson", Auto Ordnance Corp. West Hurley N.Y. 1927 A1
Serial # 12958.

Please, is anyone able to provide me with information about this weapon.

    Need info on semi auto tommy guns. Does anyone know if the new thompsons made by "kahr arms" are better than the original "auto-ordnance" models?How about resale value wise? Are they now marked Kahr mfg? If not how can you tel the difference between the two 1927 a-1's? Rayzor

    First thing I would do if I were you would be to "EDIT" your post and put XXX where the last three digits of that serial number are. It does not pay to give out too much information in this day and age.
    As to these Auto-Ordinance Thompson copies, they are semi-auto copies of the real Thompson submachine guns. There are several different set-ups out there. Some have compensators, some do not. Some have drum mags, others have the stick mags. There are a couple of different stocks and forends used. I have seen these at gun
    shows - used - for $695 to $995 over the years, depending on what the features were.
    I had one of their .45 Colt Govt. copies a few years back. That gun was probably the single most miserable piece of crap I've ever owned, especially considering I bought it new. I have not heard any major gripes about the Tommy-gun copies. Since they are semi-auto carbines you can sure burn up a whole lot of .45ACP ammo in a hurry, though.
    I don't have a Blue Book available here, but I am sure someone else will help you out.
    There is a website called TommyGunner.com. That site may be of interest to you, especially since they sell these and seem to have pictures of all the available formats along with new retail prices.
