colt m4 22lr question

if you buy one of the new colt m4 carbine 22 lr ar rifles an you put the ar15 5.56 bolt in it or is it dedicated to 22 lr

It is 100% dedicated to the .22. Even if the .223 bolt would fit in the barrel is too small for the .223 round to pass (actually .224 in diameter) not to mention the chamber is different. Plus the FCG is completely different.

thank you NWcid my brother was looking at one i have a bushmaster ar15 a2 and the colt did not look right thanks for the help

just get a CMMG drop in 22lr conversion for the bushmaster loads of fun

IMHO I do not think they look right either. They are very popular and the reviews on them are strong. I went with a dedicated upper myself. The drop in kits for real AR's are a very good choice too.
