MP15 C/R?????

I was speaking to an FFL Individual and he stated that there are two MP15's, an "R" and a "C"....

Could ya'll tell me what the differences are and what the acronym means.

    Welcome to the Gunbroker Forums!

    There are several variations or models available in the basic M&P 15 rifle/carbine.

    The 'C' variation, Model M&P15PC, is from the S&W Performance Center with premium features that include a two-stage match trigger and a 20-inch free-floated match-grade barrel. It is designed for competition, varmint shooting, and long-range tactical applications.

    The 'R' variation is chambered for the 5.45x39mm cartridge.

    Others will have more information, I'm sure.

    The standard carbine with detachable carry handle
    MP15A
    Same rifle as the MP-15 but comes with a Troy folding rear sight
    M&P15X
    Is the same as the M&P15A except it has a Troy MRF-DI 7" railed handguard
    M&P15OR(optic ready)
    Is the same as the M&P-15 but in A4 confuration, Meaning insted of a front sight tower it has picatinny FSB/gas block, I think it is same plane.
    M&P15T
    My favorite of all the S&W offerings, It Has a 10" Troy MRF-X hanguard That free floats the barrel, & Troy folding front and rear sights
    M&P15-22
    Is .22 condigured to handle like a collapsible stocked carbine.
    M&P15PS&PSX
    Are piston rifles, The Piston system used is the Adam Arms unit and the adams arms 1 piece spring loaded BCG. The PSX has a troy 7" MRF-DI railed forearm.
