remington 870 TD special deluxe

have a chance to buy a 870 td trap deluxe, 1 of 10 gold engraved on side " great american handicap vandalia ohio 1967 1 of 10" on side of receiver and underneath by chrome loading port, marked remington model 870 TD serial # 1085- 46xx. 12 gauge 30" vr . My question, does a TD trap grade exist? I have a TB trap and have seen TC traps, but never seen a TD nor can i find any info. Were these special editions for various gun clubs and what/ if any value do these bring? thanks much

    Yes, there is a 870 TD model; it has select wood, hand checkering, & hand engraving. There are also higher grade models that add gold inlays & more engraving, like the TE, TF, etc. Same thing for skeet models, & the 1100 series.

    I don't know about the Great American Handicap guns. All guns in this range are special order, so I guess that you could have anything you wanted engraved on them, at extra cost. Since all of these have the wood cut to customers measurements, hopefully you would want one that fits you. No idea of the current selling price as sales are understandably infrequent.

    Any 870 trap would be worthless to me; after years of headaches & a sore shoulder, I moved on to the 1100 series & never looked back.
