45 muzzlebreak- compensator

hi guys what is your view on 45 muzzlebreak compensator thinking about one,any advice

The kind that replaces the bushing on a 1911 is pretty worthless. The opening in the baffle(s) has to be large enough to let it run back over the barrel in recoil and leaves too much gap to redirect the gas flow out the ports.

A real compensator on the barrel is fairly effective on a .45, though not quite up to one on a .38 Super with higher pressures and higher powder to lead ratio.

As hawk stated the 45ACP is not the best cartridge for a Muzzle Brake. IMHO better to use reduced hand loads and recoil spring and then after practicing work up to full power loads"PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"
