CCI Speer ammo?

I picked up some CCI "lawman" ammo in 357 and 38spl.
the cases are silver colored and the headstamps say "speer"
they came in yellow plastic boxes of 50.
the 357 is 110gr jhp and the 38 is 140gr jhp
is this stuff any good?
why does the headstamp say speer and not CCI?

    The cases are actually nickel plated. Speer and CCI are the same company. Lawman is a trade name that CCI uses.

    That brand of ammo is very good and has been around a long time.

    Always a chance that there has been a error in the packaging, or if your not the original buyer of the ammo somebody has been playing games?

    For years, ( at least since the 1980's), CCI sold ammo under the "Blazer" name that had Berdan primed nonreloadable aluminum cases. Recently I have bought some of the .40 S & W Blazers, and it came in Boxer primed brass, that could be reloaded.

    Being the ammo you got is "silver colored", check it with a magnet. It might be the same stuff as the old "Blazer", i.e. loaded in the aluminum cases.

    The lawman ammo is made by Speer. Its the name given to their budget/practice line.

    I've used it. . .its good.

    I think the last batch I used has brass (not nickel plated) cases, but I've never seen any of this with the aluminum cases.

    good priced ammo never had a problem with it i try to stay with the blazer brass

    I agree with Rufe-snow they were originally Speer's cheaper practice ammo and the cases were made out of aluminum. The ammo is still good but you can't reload it.

    the plastic "boxes" were factory sealed when i got them and are labeled as being brass cases. I scraped off the nickel finish on one and found brass underneath.

    Tom, its just what I thought it was. Nickel plated cases always have brass beneath. As I mentioned earlier CCI & Speer are the same company as printed on the label.

    Looks like the label says 170 gr bullet, thats a heavy one. Its good guality ammo, have fun shootin it.
