series 70 1911 frame

ive seen some guys put a series 80 slide on a series 70 frame or maybe its the other way around but any how my question is it possible to use a colt 22lr conversion kit made for a series 70 on a series 80 frame

    Yes, but you would have to take out the lawyer levers or have the slide milled to clear them.

    Hello Hawk is correct you can get the spacer to take out the series 80 safety in the frame and then do the job[:p] however then you must reinstall the factory parts to make the 45 slide allow the firing pin to hit the primer.[V] A better idea would be to drill a small dimple in the conversion unit slide this would be hidden. and then the conversion unit would work on both type frames. only needs a 1/8 inch hole 1/8 inch deep [^] however it must be in the correct place. Compare the two slides up side down and you can see where it needs to be drilled.
