Remington 121 Help !

I need some expert opinions on the best way to fix a Remington 121 with a messed up chamber. Rifling in barrel looks good but for some reason the first 3/16" of the chamber has gotten over sized. And the shell casing are bulging. Local gunsmith says he can reline barrel or just reline chamber. Ether fix will probably destroy the value of the gun. He left decision up to me. Its a nice looking gun,but its not really safe the way it is. Any advise or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    What value? If somebody offers you a lot of money for a non-functional squirrel rifle, grab it quick.

    Otherwise get it fixed. Will just bushing the chamber be a lot less expensive than a full reline?

    ARE YOU SURE THIS IS A .22 LONG RIFLE, IF IS MARKED .22 REM. SPECIAL IT IS CHAMBERED FOR THE .22WRF CARTIDGE.

    Barrel is marked Short Long or long rifle

    A chamber can be relined with the repair being practically invisible.

    reline the chamber. I have done several. All were nearly invisible.
