Im trying to confirm a ball park value for my Winchester Model 12 - 12 Gauge... My serial is: 520xxx...

    My dad recently gave me my grandpa's Model 12 12 guage. I would like to use it to get involved in shooting and bird hunting for the first time. In about five years, I'd like to know enough to introduce my son to the sport.

    Before I start carrying grandpa's gun around the woods and shooting it at the range, I thought I should learn a little about its history in case I would rather just leave it on display as a family heirloom.

    I have no idea where to begin. Would someone be so kind as to let me know what useful information I could provide on this forum to get some history on the gun? Thanks in advance!

    Need to know condition, grade, rib, stock....etc...Just post some good pics if you are not able to describe it thoroughly! OR...Its worth from $200- $6000.

    Looks to be from early thirties. Metal finish is bad. Standard field gun. Value about 200 dollars.

    1928 is the year it was made, and it was rode real hard and put up wet way way too many times[:(]. It would be a real challenge to get $200 for it.
