Colt Combat Commander

I have a Colt Combat Commander, in 9mm caliber, and I am trying to figure out what series it is. The Bluebook only has a listing for an 80 series gun. But, from what I have seen on a few of the gunsites this gun was also made in a series 70. The serial no. is: 70BS65XXX.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Or, if someone knows of a website that would give me the info I am seeking. Thanks in advance.

    What is a nickel stain Colt Combat Commander worth if NIB with all the paperwork including correct box?

    The value of many guns can be found by looking at completed auctions on this site. Click on the Smart Search link at the top of the home page, & look for COMPLETED auctions for the same type gun in similar condition with the same accessories.

    coxman....Welcome to the GB forums. Colt does not have a finish called nickel stain that I know of, but they do have one called "satin nickel". They were series 70 guns.

    Does what your referring to look like this one, but with wood grips?

    coxman01, The older (series 70) satin nickel Colt Combat Commander althought not rare is not real common either. The last couple of these I have seen at auctions sold for around $700 to $900.
