XD-40 question about 15 and 20 round mags
I was looking at getting a couple spare magazines for my XD 40 and noticed a couple of 20 round Magazines on gunbroker, so I was researching this.
I ran across a site that was selling a National 15 round magazine and a pro-mag 20 rounder and both had less than stellar reviews from both a load and feed perspective.
Whats the opinion here? Should I just get stock 12 rounders or does anyone have any positive experiences out of 15/20 round magazines?

It is my opinion that pro mags are junk. I have a pro mag dealer who will tell you the same thing.
I know nothing aqbout National mags but I find that the mag being the weak link in a quality pistol it is best to stick with factory or QUALITY after market mags.0 -
What would you consider a quality aftermarket Mag? I'm very new at this. I know I have Tapco Mags for my SKS, they seem good from what I can tell. Haven't shot it a lot, but I haven't had any load or feed problems with the 20 rounds. 0 -
For the most part sticking with factory mags is the way to go.
Why do you want or need mags that hang way out of the bottom of a handgun? To me it kinda seems to defeat the point of a pistol. If you really think you need some I would try one first and see how it goes.
There are 2 reasons for longer mags, full auto which are few and far between. Or to try and make things look cool.
On this set up it does help offset the weight of the suppressor and balances it a bit better but I still usually shoot with standard size mags. BTW these are the factory Glock 33rd mags.

That does make sense about it sticking out of the bottom. I really wanted an XD9 for the 16 round mags that come stock, but I got a good deal on the 40, so I went with that. 0 -

Springfield has 12-round magazines for the XD 40 and without trying to sound like some sort of gun control nut, you don't need much more than that in .40 S&W.
I'd stick with factory mags and avoid anything that advertises increased capacity because those extra rounds will likely come at a cost in reliability - and what good are those extra rounds if you can't fire but one or two before it jams up on you?0 -
Buy a few extra factory mags for the range shooting, buy after market mags and the jams are not worth the it. The extra weight does not help your shooting either for real life situations.
