winchester 02a

I have a winchester single shot 22 cal. barrel is stamped model 02a
22 short,long. has 18"barrel no buttplate on stock. stock is 21" long and very slim. straight bolt handle. cant find info on in the blue book sounds like a 1900. but cant find a 02a listed. any info would be appreciated.

  The Model 02A was the final variant of the Model 1902, and it was very short lived. The first Model 02A rifle was made in November of 1927, and it was discontinued at the end of 1928. Winchester scrapped all of the remaining parts on hand December 23, 1932, and officially announced that it was discontinued.
  
  If your rifle has 6-groove rifling, it was made sometime between November 25th, 1927 and January 12th, 1928. If it has 4-groove rifling, it has made after January 12th, 1928.
  
  As a side note (and I have stated this many times in previous posts), the Blue Book is a poor reference document for accurate information concerning the older Winchester models.
