M1 garand tech/info
I have another M1 garand and was interested in where to find information on Drawing and revision numbers. The serial number from what I did find out, on the Fulton Armory website, is it was build in april 1943. Drawing and revision numbers are D 28291 32. Do these match? Where can I look for info on other parts drawing numbers? John

What is the serial number on the receiver heel (or at least the first few digits)? I'm going to tell you that an M1 produced in April 1943 would not have a -32 drawing number, which is from several months later. Could be a welded receiver or you could have goofed in your serial number/date calculation. 0 -
serial number on the heel of the receiver is 1559038. On the right side of the receiver is D 28291 32. Where is this information available? Thanks, John 0 -
You have your production date correct. A -32 drawing number should be found on 2.3-2.85 million receivers whie yours should be a -17. Better take a close look and see if it has been welded. Where did you buy it the rifle? If you bought it from a guy walking it around a gun show I'd be concerned. 0 -
