How does a person get the forms and what kind of forms to have a legal Machine Gun in Pennsylvania?

    just go to a class 3 dealer in ur area; they will be glad to help u; be advised it is a 200.00 fee to atf; and dealer will probably charge something for helping with the paperwork; some will work with u if u purchase from them.

    All of the difference in the world...If you want to keep your ass out of the slam! Non registered machine guns cannot be registered now and are contraband. The gun might still have been registered but just like getting a clear title on a house before the sale, the registration will have to be verified before any talk of transfer can proceed.

    The difference is 10 yrs in a Federal Correctional Institute, and a fine of $250,000. As Mark said, if the gun was not already registered with the BATFE by May 1986, it cannot BE registered. Which is why a Police Dept transferrable M-16 is about $398, and a CIVILIAN TRANSFERRABLE M-16 is about $16,000.

    Depending on the age of the machine gun it must have been registered during the brief amnesty provided in the Gun Control Act of 1968 or if produced after the close of the 1968 amnesty, before the window for MG registrations closed permanently in May, 1986. If registration was not done during the appropriate time frame then it cannot be done now, under any circumstances. The machine gun might have been registered and the papers lost (this does happen) but to find out this information the BATFE would have to investigate the gun's status and you, as a potential buyer, cannot be involved in this, it has to be done on the sellers end.

    Just out of curiosity; what make/model of MG are we talking about?
