Mitchell Yugo Teak Stock and Hand Grip
I have the above bought from Mitchell years ago. Of course they are for scientific study only, or just to look at. If I auction, does anyone have an idea of value. None have come into country since before 1989 is what I am being told.

My Yugo M48 8MM bolt action rifle has a teak stock on it and it came from Mitchell's Mauser'S gun company.

The one I bought several years ago has a teak wood stock on it also.

The one I have is not for an m48. It is for a Mitchell Arms M70, M77, or RPK. Either in 7.62X39 or 7.62X51 (.308 Winchester)

They were bringing close to $2K back during the big panic buying spree in November/December, but no telling where the market is right now until you list it for auction (where else would you sell it but right here on Gun Broker? [;)])

Mark, only the wood stock and pistol grip is what I asked about.
However, I just sold a new/old stock M77 308 Yugo on the auction the other day.
I still have a Mitchell RPK that I may list on the auction. Not sure yet as I have only purchased once and am a first time seller. But, with what I am seeing in detrimental comments on this forum about new sellers, (not myself) I'm not so sure now. A number of so called experts, advanced, what ever seem to want to tell new sellers they won't buy from them until they they have bought a number of items first and sold first. Rip apart their very first auction terminology. I do not speak of product description here either. Cartod and nmyers addressed a guy on page two questioning perhaps his item, which is as should be. Guy asked "if he done any dumb stuff in his listing."
As a first time and successful seller on G.B. Auction, I do take offense to what they state about buying from a first time seller.
I thought that G.B. Auction paid for this site! Am I wrong? Why wouldn't GB want sellers? I have seen these type of comments from senior and advanced members in the forum for some time, thinly veiled in other responses to different people. Why does GB or Moderators allow comments like these two alone on page 2? I can sell other places if I get personal comments like these two.
Mark, you always have a good and respectable response to items. I hit you on this only because you mentioned selling at auction. Too many other of these so called experts and advanced members apparently are nearing middle age and still live rent free in their Mother's basement.0 -
I thought that you wanted to sell the entire gun and not just the stock kit. Once upon a time these were worth good money but then a huge number of Yugo AK parts kits hit the market and soon there were Yugo stocks and pistol grips all over the place. The problem with the Yugo stock sets is that they won't fit anything but a Yugo, they just won't work on any other AK. There were so few Mitchell's brought in that just about anyone who needed a Yugo stock set to complete their M90 just went out and ordered the wood, or even a complete parts kit from outfits like Centerfire. 0 -
Hello Stevan1 each and every one of the Gunbroker sellers had to start somewhere. But may I ask you a question . Could you be misinterpreting the comments of some of our members . I don't feel they are trying to keep new sellers from putting things up for auction but rather trying to point out the pitfalls that many new seller fall into such as High starting prices and Reserve auction These two things probably negate the largest number of buyers from even looking at an item offered for sale . This along with the need for GOOD pictures and ACCURATE description. I also think these same folks want to point out that as this is an internet site and not face to face we have to TRUST the seller. Therefor a seller with good feedback on many items most likely will get more and higher bids on an Item this is just a fact of life and informed buyers. You see we all fall into the trap of misinterpreting I for one did this when I read your original post "Of course they are for scientific study ONLY , or just to look at " this came across to me as an attempt on your part to say HEY I have some items I want to sell .Do you want to make me an offer and thus circumvent paying a fee to sell your item on Gunbroker. Took the quote on the wood as read on this forum from an expert a while back. I also believe I did state I wished to auction them perhaps. That is why I wished someone to advise perhaps a value of some type.
My subject on new sellers does not reflect High starting prices. Nor did I mention Reserve. Which I can see both ways to list, but that is up to the seller per GB Auction rules is it not.
However, if I want to sell through Gunbroker, why should I feel I have to buy items first before someone can buy from me? I am parting with guns and accessories because of my age and I simply do not get around as well as I used to. Why buy more? Also, the seller is permitted to set terms such as "As is, No returns." Ok, if that sets up a flag to those guys, so be it. Simply do not bid or ask seller a question as the Auction people state for you too. That's all I ask. So do many others on the auctions.
May I ask you why a GB seller has to start somewhere? I did, at their auction page, read terms and conditions and accepted their rates. Why do members of this forum have their own rules for a new seller and if they are not bidding an item, why concerned? That's all I wonder.
By the way Perry Shooter, I have never seen a post of yours that does what I have referred to above.0 -
A few years ago on this form I asked if those rifles really had a teak stock. The answer from a number opf sources was no. That would be a very expensive stock. 0
