Nosler Brass

I have done a search, and a couple threads came up under the Competition and Reloading forum. However, I wanted to ask over here too, If anyone has had any experience with Nosler brass?

Who makes it? Does Nosler draw it themselves, or does some one put Nosler's stamp on it? I have heard that Norma makes it, but there are a lot of claims on the advertisements that you don't get with Norma brass.

Nononsense, Just C, Perryshooter, Sandwarrior, anyone have experience?

    I use it. Excellent brass - I especially like the primer hole prep they do. I will buy more!

    I use it for my .280 AI. So far it's been pretty good. I have decided maybe because of it that I didn't like a couple powders. I used some Hybrid 100 and had loose primer pockets...but that did the same thing to 20 of my Winchester .257 +P's[V]. So to me that was powder. Overall the brass has been consistent throughout 4-6 reloadings.

    Anyhow, I've read in a few places that Norma made their brass. So it is high quality.

    Hello I have used Norma ammo and brass as well as their powder for reloading and it was all first rate. I have also used Nosler Bullets for reloading and they make some of the best match grade bullets for reloading in 45ACP "believe it or not these are 185 grain JHP". I think the reason they shoot smaller groups in extensive ransom rest testing then any other bullet by any maker is the lead core is loaded from the nose & this gives a better base. The Military marksman ship teams used to load their own with this bullet after Federal Match 185 grain quality when to S**T in both brass and grouping.Then they got Black Hills to load their match ammo with Nosler bullets. Now back to your question. I suspect both companies have VERY CLOSE ties along with VitaVorie (SPELLING)powder however I see no reason that Nosler could not make their own brass cases they have the technology in making bullets and drawing metal. Sorry I don't know for sure but I think some of the higher management may even work for all three companies.

    just got some 300RUM but havn't loaded it yet. Been busy around the house and work and have been slipping on my range time[V]

    I also got some 300 RUM, and was so impressed, I got some more of that, and some 260 Rem, and 243 also.

    I have a couple suppliers that sell the Remington RUM for $45.00/50pcs, and the Nosler 300 RUM is 53.00. So the difference is minimal to me. They have several of the Nosler listings there also that show to be in stock. If you wish, e-mail me, and I will give you specifics.

    I got a box of 204 Ruger brass. Looks real good but the way it was packed in a plastic bag inside the box didn't impress me. I resized all of it even though it said sized and ready to load.

    I have Nosler brass in 22-250. I have loaded 50 nosler brass rounds and 50 remington brass rounds both with the same load in the same gun. For that savage I was getting groups of .3 and .4 inch verses the remington brass of .6 and .7. I would never have believed the results had I not seen it first hand. The results were just my experince and nothing against remngton brass as I load remington for serveral other guns ( as well as federal, and winchester). But I get range brass for free and Nosler is certainly not. Joe

    The initial runs of Nosler brass which I tested thoroughly, was spotty at best. I guess 'inconsistent' would be a better term. I'll leave it at that.

    Current observations and practical application of their brass indicate that it's actually pretty good. Their weight distribution was small enough to be acceptable and only required additional sorting for some extraordinary long range exercises where the minutia counts.

    I like almost everything about the brass except for the price and the availability. Nosler, like a couple of other manufacturers, has taken the high road for pricing its products. This started when the son took over and reduced the quantity from 100 bullets to 50 and left the prices intact. They feel and are certainly proving that Americans will pay just about any price for a product that is marketed correctly.

    I checked their website again for the umpteenth time only to note again that from the list of 25 cartridges for which they make brass, they have only 5 in stock for sale. Chalk it up to scare tactics and silly buying habits of Americans when they put an obvious anti-gun Socialist in office.

    I have some .300 RUM on my bench right now along with a quantity of cases used for wildcats and cartridge development like the 22-250, .300 RSAUM and the .260 Rem. I stumbled into 1,000 pieces of .243 brass for a proper price and I'm pleased to note that Nosler has taken up the cause for the .300 H&H and the .264 Win. Mag.

    I still buy large quantities of Lapua and some Norma when I can get it. One of my brass/powder suppliers is about 3 hours away so I'm planning a big run in a couple of months to stock up for the winter testing programs and a couple of development projects yet to be named.
