H&R Model 732

I recently bought a H&R Model 732 32 S&W. First off, Let me say that I am new to gun owenership, so my terminology might be off. This is the problem. When i fire the gun, sometime the tumbler does not spin. Its not often, but god forbid i need to protect myself and it happens then. I need to have this corrected and dont know whats wrong...Is this a common problem with this pistol? From what ive read, they were pretty reliable in their day. Also if you could give me a little information on how old it is and how to decode the serial #, I would appreciate it. The serial number is AF46225. Also, what type of ammunition can i fire through this revolver, i know i can fire 32 shorts, but what about anything else.....

    I have a 32 caliber H&R Model 732 revolver that belongs to my Dad and is in very good condition. I am not sure he ever fired it as it was mainly purchased for protection in his home. How can I find out how much it is worth today?

    Currently, the Model 732s are selling between $165 +/- 25 in excellent condition to a low of $35 for parts guns. Average value seems to be around $125-135.

    This gun was purchased long before it was necessary to register a firearm. How does one sell a gun today that was purchased legally at the time but is not currently registered?

    Sell it through the auspices of a Licensed Firearms Dealer - he will know what to do to transfer it to a purchaser in your state. This will relieve you of any down stream responsibility.
