womack barrel
I have a 22-250 custom rifle? Womack bull barrel. Mauser action. Once a round is loaded, you push the trigger forward and at the slightest touch it fires. The stock is walnut and the forearm is wide for bench rest and seem to have inlays of different woods or grains. From the old style hard rubber {White Line} butt plate that is worn flat, I'm sure the rifle is old. Barrel if bedded. Seems to be in very good condition. That's all I know. Anyone have any info? Thank You!

What you probably have is a Lester Womack custom/sporter Mauser. I don't know the values that his guns bring, but he is a fairly well known name in customizing old Mausers. He even wrote a book about customizing Mausers. That, to the right person, could increase the value of the rifle. the trigger you mention is called a "set trigger" In normal position it has normal poundage to pull it and release the firing pin. When it's set it takes up a spring and also brings the sear closer to the edge of release so that the trigger is assisted in a very short movement when set off. The fine trigger helps from moving the rifle while pulling the trigger.
