Best dedicated .22LR upper for AR-15 platform.

That last question on the new Umarex (Colt) M4 .22 had me thinking.

I'm looking for a dedicated .22LR upper for an AR-15.

I'd rather NOT just drop in one of those .22 conversion units because I don't want to clog my gas system (or barrel) with lead, and I don't want to deal with rifle twist rate issues with ordinary 40 grain bullets at only 1200 fps.

So, what is the BEST dedicated .22-type AR-15 upper on the market?

Are there any good ones even worth considering, or am I just better off getting one of the AR-15 .22 clones (like the above mentioned M4, or the Ruger 10/22 AR lookalike kits).

    Like I said in the other thread , I have a CZ upper, works great on all but one of my AR's.

    most will use a CMMG/ceinier type bolt system and a 1/16 turn barrel for use with 40gr bullets i bought a generic one of the auction side and it works great[^]

    I also have a CZ upper, and it works well on the lower that is dedicated to it.. Smith and wesson is offering a dedicated rifle, and the retail is only 500.00, i am going to buy one, though I cant really comment on reliability yet. i do know that blow back designs are the most reliable semi auto systems i have ever used.

    Tactical Solutions out of idaho. Put it on my Rock River Arms lower and it is perfect and very accurite.

    +1 I have some of his 223 products and have been very happy with it and have only heard good things about his .22 uppers
