what is a pre supreme fn mauser in 3006 worth? has factory sights and made in the 1930's.

    Trying to get a rough date of manufacture on a FN commercial mauser.
    No stripper clip slot and it has the big FN in a circle on the forward
    receiver ring. Looks about identical to the Browning safari except
    for the bolt release. Thanks, Don Sorry I haven't mastered the picture routine yet. It's only a three digit serial #.

    Frank de Haas has a chapter about the F.N. commercial actions in his book, "Bolt Action Rifles". The early ones made for the U.S. market were imported by a outfit named "Firearms International", located in Washington D.C. The ones without the stripper clip slot and taped for a receiver sight date to the summer of 48, according to de Haas. He also notes some of the early imports were DOM marked. Take yours out of the stock, to see if their any markings under the wood.
