accuracy issues with xd 45
Hello, I am reloading 230gr rainier rn copper coated with bullseye powder in my xd 45 and I have to say what junk! I am new to reloading and do not know all of the powder recommendations for this gun. Please help, I would love to get some advice for round nose and hollow point bullets with their respective powders that work great in this pistol. With my bullets, I am lucky to hit a cluster at 20 yards. I have been advised against bullseye, but I want to know what you think. Also, I am a decent and practiced shooter so I know it aint me. Thanks in advance.

I am sorry to not receive more responses. I found a competition 45acp shooter who told me wst powder with xtp bullets is an excellent option. He also told me that the bullseye powder is the cheapest stuff on the market and not to use it. I did try more charge, up to 5.8 to not much better avail. Shoulda kept my $180 hi-point, that thing was sure accurate with these "cheap" bullets. 0 -

I don't want to step on toes BUT what kind of groups are you expecting out of an XD. IMHO this is NOT a match grade gun and Rainier Bullets are not Match grade bullets. However I have loaded and shot over 300,000 rounds of 45ACP ammo using Bulls-Eye powder and in my opinion it is one of the best powders to get Master Class groups with in 45ACP. The only way to tell what the pistol will do and what the ammo will do is to put the pistol in a ransom rest . Master class Match grade groups Will run 1.5 - 2.5 inches for 10 shot group at 50 yards out of a ransom rest. the best bullet is the Nosler 185 grain JHP. with V.V. powder N310 or N320. 1.185 OAL with case mouth taper crimped to .469 + or - .002 0
