Opinions of the Heritage 22 MAG

I was wanting to see if any one has had any dealings with them. I have a chance to pick one up kinda cheap but know little about them.

IMO a "Mid Range" quality gun. About on par w/the old import FIE/Excam SA's from the 1960's/70's. Perhaps a little better, but not much. Nearly if not exactly same deign.
They are certainly no Ruger Single Six. But if you take care of it, it should give good sevice and last a long time.
There are 2 types. Those w/steel frames and those w/alloy frames. Of course steel is best.
Most come w/fixed sights, often the old Colt milled in topstrap type. IMO you are pretty lucky if you can shoot accurately with one of this type 1st time out. Generally takes a little "Gettin to know your gun" and how it shoots to be able to shoot it well. Which is fairly common for fixed sight pistols.
If you can get it cheap, I'd say go for it. .22 handguns are very popular and in demand right now. If you don't like it, you can likely get you $ back out of it. At least.

Pretty good quality. Brand new here for around 169. I would probably not pay over 100 for a used one.

They are fine for an inexpensive plinker. Not junk at all, but not a S&W or Ruger either. A good friend has had one for the last three years and shoots about a box of ammo a week of 22 LR and maybe a box of Mags every six months. Never has had a problem and was pretty accurate for "plinker status".

If the price is right they are OK.
