Marlin 990 (varient of model 60)
The 990 is similar to the 60 except the stock. Mine is solid wood and not a laminate so perhaps someone swapped it out.
I bought it used, took it apart, soaked the bolt and loading mechanism in mineral spirits. Scraped out all the accumulated crud. Blew it out and dried it off. I used a thick carpenter's pencil to graphite the sliding parts/places.
It shoots fine, ejects and auto-loads after each shot. My problem is that it won't stay cocked after an auto-loaded shot. I have to manually pull the bolt back which ejects an unfired bullet. I'm guessing that something won't stay latched, any suggestions?

One suggestion would be to drop the graphite and use a good quality gun oil. Polymer engineers spend millions developing special purpose lubricants and you are still using one from the 19th century. It is not even the best for locks any more. 0 -
It turns out that the lever on the left hand plate had a tab worn off and this is what disengages said lever when you have the trigger depressed and the bolt recoils. I order the new part 0
