Lee Classic loader
Bought a used Lee loader, am not sure if powder measure is the right one for my .270 win. It is marked 190 and is black color. Weighed a charge and it was 52 gr of IMR4350. I have a beam scale(not digital). Tried getting info from Lee web site,got inst manual, but could not find charge chart that comes with new loaders on their web site. where can I get this info? Thanks for your help.

In Richard Lee's, "Modern Reloading", The charge range using IMR 4350 with a 130 grain jacketed bullet, is between 50 & 55 grains. 0 -
grizz.....I have the Lee powder measure kit and it shows that you should get 42.5 grains of IMR 4350 from the 190 powder measure. Not sure why you would get 52 grains. Proper technique is to push the measure through the powder and lightly shake it side to side to remove extra grains on top.
Don't have a loader in 270 Winchester, so can't tell you if # 190 is the correct measure. I take it you didn't get the charge table that comes with the loader.

Thanks for the replys, I have a hornady reloading manual to go by. Did not get a charge chart with Lee Loader. Where could I down load one? I'll check scale with lee dipper again and level off charge. Thanks again! 0 -
grizz....there is a Lee Loader in 270 for sale here on GB.....#190 is the correct measure, he has a picture of the chart. I saved it and enlarged it and here is what it says:
100 grain....Hercules Hi Vel #@....43.0
100 to 130...Dupont IMR 3031.......41.0
130 to 150...Dupont IMR 4064.......42.0
130 to 150...Dupont IMR 4320.......43.5
150 grain....Dupont IMR 4895.......43.0
All of these are the weights you get out of the #190 measure.....I don't think they have IMR 4350 listed.
Not a real clear picture, so take this information with a grain of salt.........
