  not much info there other than it is a "MARLIN 39A GOLDEN MOUNTIE", the one i had way back when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth had a "gold" plated trigger.., i wonder.., was it really "gold" or something with a likeness of "gold" ? another one lost to divorce, i hope the owner of that little rifle enjoys shooting it and likes it as much as i did.

  I've got one like in the auction from the late '50.s. The trigger is plated to look gold. They are one of the best 22,s I have owned.

  The latest (July) "American Rifleman" has a good article on the 39A golden mountie, it's variations and current prices. It's on the last page section "technical-I have this old gun"...actually quite a good synopsis of the 39A..if you can't find a copy shoot me an email and I can try to send you a copy as an attachment.
