does anyone know how the forearm wood is removed from a model 31 rem. shotgun. thanks gary

  I am not very good at giving instructions in writing but here goes. To get the wood off you have to remove the forend arm ( wood and metal ). Take the barrel off, then take the trigger group out, hold it upside down and pull the forend back towards the rear and lift the slide off the bolt, that will release the forend arm. take the screw from the top of the magazine quide ( end of the magazine ), hold on to the end-parts while doing this ( they are under pressure from the magazine spring ), work the top barrel lock nut off-magazine spring will come out then-. You should be able to pull the forend forward off the magazine tube, there is a large nut inside the front of the wood that has to be unscrewed from the forend metal to let the wood slide forward off the forend.
