Are the two action screws the same dia. and TPI ? The front screw is to big, and will not interchange with the rear screw. I'm trying to fing a longer screw for the rear to use as a guide screw while inletting. My local hdwe store cannot match the rear screw. What's up??? THX HAWKSHAW

    Front Screw = 1/4 x 28

    Rear Screw = 7/32 x 28

    Wayne Leek is the designer of note but it's always an unknown as to who might have written the specifications for the screws. For all we know it could very well have been a bean counter trying to pare down the cost of the rifle since it was to be a 'budget' rifle.

    I was hired to work on a project a few years ago and a similar thing took place. One of the budget people came to me and said he had a source for inexpensive screws that would save a lot of money in the long run and could we put it in as a spec? It turned out that he had a casual connection with the screw supplier and we had to deny the request. The action itself though happens frequently in cost-cutting measures.
