buying night sights...
Have a sig p226 that I'm set on having trijicon install a set of thier sights on it. Here's my delima, IF I wanted to replace the sights with factory sights ,they have many sizes, 5,6,7,8 ect. That would just drive me nuts trying to figure which I want. With the nights sights I plan on getting they have one set for my model,period. How do they determine the size ? I don't want to have to re-learn to shoot the gun to hit the target. Anyone have experience with these night sights ? Good/Bad ? Thanks

They are one of the best in the market. The sight companies use the normal height of the factory sights that are set to normal eye sight.
If your Sig shoots to your point of aim now, don't worry about it.0 -

Make sure you get a fresh set of night sights, not some that have been sitting around waiting for to be bought for several years. The half-life of the tritium gives night sights a useful life of only abut 12 to 15 years. 0 -
You really should go to the Sigarms site and determine which set number you have right now; since the 226 comes in several calibers, and each has its' own height.
If I recall correctly, the 9mm uses #3, .40S&W uses #4, etc.; someone correct me if I got 'em wrong.0 -
Agree on the 1/2 life. But since I'll be sending the slide to trijicon for them to install, they honor a 12 yr. warranty. They say the 226 in a 9mm is thier p/n sgo1. Currently the gun has #8 rear and # 8 front. Thank you all.
Oh, I also just put a set of hogue rubber w/finger grooves on it. Very impressed with the grips, went on very easy and fit perfect, No visible seam showing. Wife loves it. It is hers since she bought me a pro 2340 in 40s&w. Again, Thanks0 -
Some of the night sight makers are honoring a life time warranty now.
I just had some 20yr. old IWI's replaced.0
