What is the remedy for an Oregon Kimber 22 not properly throwing empties far enough to clear the action?

    The extractor pulls the fired case out of the chamber. The ejector is supposed to kick the case out of the receiver as the bolt is cycled, to the rear. Check the face and engagement of the extractor with the rim of the cartridge. It might be dirty, bent, broken etc. If the extractor is OK, then check the ejector for the same problems.

    Rufe Snow has given you good advice Also check that the chamber is not dirty and the slide rails are oiled and you are holding the pistol firmly. GUNS that are straight BLOW-BACK design . The KIMBER 22 is one don't like to run dry . You can also get reduced weight recoil springs for them if all you shoot is standard velocity target ammo.

    [:o)][:I]Well I guess I am so into pistols I never gave it a thought that this was a rifle. [:0] with bolt action rifles the speed one uses the bolt on it's rearward cycle determines how far the empty will eject under most conditions. make sure the extractor hook is clean and the bolt face is also. If you remove the bolt and take a cartridge and slide it under the the extractor hook it should stay there. there might be some gunk between the side of the extractor and the slot in the bolt.
