Ace 22 floating chamber ?

Can you tell if this auction has the floating chamber ?

I don't know what to look for. I emailed the seller and they said it had blow back action , but wouldn't feel like a 45.

Or if someone had a pic of the floating chamber I would know what to look for .

    The pistol in your link is the original Colt with the "Floating Chamber, conversion unit".

    Here is a picture of one.

    The Colt's with the "Floating Chamber" conversion units are expensive collectors items nowadays. A number of different firms make conversion units nowadays, that are much more reliable from a practicable standpoint for shooting.

    I would rather have one of the newer ones. 80's unless the older ones are more reliable. [8D]

    It's not so much an matter of age, but the type and quality of the .22 ammo your using in the floating chamber unit. I've owned at least (3) of the floating chamber units over the years. Using cheap ammo I've had the floating chamber "solder up" in less then 50 rounds.

    Believe it or not CCI Stinger has been the best ammo for me both reliability and accuracy wise when using the floating chamber unit. I have fired hundreds of rounds through it with out it "soldering up" using Stinger ammo.

    I have used that exact colt conversion, rufe-snow has pictured for over 30 years now. What I found with mine, was high dollar .22 target ammo was the worst thing to use in it. I was shooting 4 position 50 ft.
    NRA matches most of the time and had lots of good ammo always on hand,
    but the colt kit liked HS copper plated remingtons the best. bob
